The one where nothing really eventful gets said.

See the thing is, I'm liking Chemistry. Just a little bit, but it's still something, right? Right.

And this weekend we went to the Renaissance Festival (this amazing medieval festival with jousting, turkey legs, awesome bawdy shows, stuff you can buy, etc.) which was brilliantly amazing.

Emily's best friend Aubrey visited.

I'm actually going to make an effort to lose some weight.

My birthday came and went.

And I actually felt God yesterday. Not that I've never felt God, but I felt dry for a long time. Too long really.

So. This has been a good break. And who knows, it may continue for a while.

Pumpkins, Stars and the like

This weekend has been absolutely wonderful.

First I had the campout, where we talked about girly things that I haven't talked about in what feels like forever, played monopoly, ate countless smores, walked on a trail in the middle of the woods at night (we ended up calling our friend and putting him on speaker-phone), and freezing while looking up at the stars.

Second, I went pumpkin hunting with my friend Morgan, then we brought our purchases home and carved them up, and roasted the seeds. Then the next day, we played tennis, got Ben & Jerry's, and went to Rugged Warehouse (where I found an U.O. dress for twelve bucks!).

I'm excited about my sisters getting home, but this weekend has been better than I hoped. :)

Here are some pictures of our pumpkins (mine is the owl), and a picture of me at the pumpkin patch.

In which my sisters leave me

My sisters and honorary brother, JP left for San Francisco this morning. Without me. And I didn't even get up whe Emily was leaving, cause I was so tired. And now I feel like a bad person. Crap.

But... tonight one of my friends has invited me (and a bunch of other ladies) over for a girls night, which I'm really excited for, since we haven't had time outside of school to hang out much.

Tomorrow, my friend, Morgan (who is spectacular!), is taking me to a pumpkin patch, and then to a coffee shop for pumpkin lattes. I'm a huge lover of all hot drinks (especially coffee and chai though), so I'm really excited.

Then Monday I get to go to the mountains, with one of my favorite ladies, Dana (or Great Dane as I call her). Needless to say, I'm super excited :) :) :)

Yesterday I got to dress as a nun for Extra Credit (it had to be a character from Canterbury Tales) and I got full points! Woo-hoo!
This is my nun picture:

Please don't judge me.

Fall has arrived.

Today when I walked outside the door, I was suddenly bowled over by the chilly fall weather. This is what I've been waiting for. The feeling that your nose will freeze if you don't have a scarf.

I remember when my parents would hustle us out of bed early in the morning when it was still dark, to go out to a vacant lot and stargaze. This was a somewhat regular occurrence, and it happened most often when there was a meteor shower or something of that sort. We would drive until we were at least out of our neighborhood, (since it is very hilly, and you aren't able to see the sunrise over the hills), but most of the time we would lay on the concrete behind our church, slightly cushioned by a few quilts, but still able to feel the frosty ground, and gaze. We would mostly gaze at the stars, but occasionally we would gaze at the surrounding foliage and sometimes at each other.

Now my sisters are in college, and even though they live with us, I'm the only one who's at home. Or at least that's how it seems to me. We don't have the chilly morning of stargazing that is warmed by a biscuit and coffee at the end. Now I'm here watching them drive off to school and wishing that we were all in the same car, (slightly younger), driving off the watch the stars dazzle us once again.

As you can probably see, I'm quite taken by fall and winter. Not that summer and spring aren't lovely, but I feel like I have more purpose when its cold. Which seems quite fickle. Oh well.
